EVENT FAQ

Our giant screen is most visible in the dark, so we start our film showings at sunset.

How long is The Lion King?

1 hour 28 mins

What is the film’s certificate?

U

Can you bring your own blankets and chairs?

Yes as we will be sat on grass, we recommend that you bring blankets and camping chairs.

Will there be popcorn and ice cream?

Yes, of course!

Children under-2 can come in for free.

Will there be other things going on?

Yes, before the film starts we will have food, bar and music.

What if the weather is bad?

If it rains the event will go ahead. We are only not be able to use the screen if there are high winds (winds over 25 knots.) Obviously we hope for a nice dry night but it is worth being prepared for the Great British weather.

Is there car parking?

Yes there is parking at the park but this is limited to just 100 cars, so it is advised to make your way to the site by public transport if possible, so as to avoid not being able to park on site.

Outside of the park, there are several roads nearby that offer free parking at weekends, such as Dunfield Road, Braeside Road and Worsley Bridge Road. Note that parking on Beckenham Place Park Road and Westgate Road is not advised as this is a private residents’ road.
Bus: Number 54 bus stops outside on Beckenham Hill Road and comes from Plumstead, Blackheath, Lewisham and Elmers End.
Train: There are two different nearby stations; Beckenham Hill Station and Beckenham Junction that jointly have connections across a lot of South London.
Walk: Multiple park entrances means walking is relatively easy if living in the nearby vicinity –
Beckenham, Downham, Bellingham, Catford Ravensbourne & Shortlands.
Cycle: There are only a limited number of cycling racks but with nice cycling routes from Catford on to Peckham and that the Mansion is located in a park, it’s a nice alternative to driving.
