On Sunday 19th August 2018, we bring an amazing outdoor cinema experience for all the family to the stunning setting of Newstead Abbey, with a showing of the spellbinding Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone!
Bring a blanket or chair and sit under the stars!
The event will also feature a fully stocked bar, popcorn, snacks, music and more.
Gates open at 7pm.
The film will get underway around 8.30pm, when the sun goes down.

Why does the film start so late?
Our giant screen is most visible in the dark, so we start our film showings at sunset.

What is the film’s certificate?
Can you bring your own blankets and chairs?
Yes as we will be sat on grass, we recommend that you bring blankets and camping chairs.
Can you bring your own food and drink?
Yes you can but there will also be an on site bar with beer, wine, prosecco and pimms plus we will have popcorn, ice cream and snacks.
Will there be popcorn and ice cream?
Yes, of course!
Do young children have to have a ticket?
Children under-2 can come in for free.
Will there be other things going on?
Yes, before the film starts we will have a bar and music.
What if the weather is bad?
If it rains the event will go ahead. We are only not be able to use the screen if there are high winds (winds over 25 knots.) Obviously we hope for a nice dry night but it is worth being prepared for the Great British weather.
Is there car parking?
Yes there is parking at the abbey.
